No sensors. No encoders. No cameras. Just the VFDs already on your crane.
Some anti-sway systems require additional hardware — encoders on the hoist, height measuring units,
specialist commissioning. craneIQ Antisway needs none of it.
Overview
Load swing costs time, causes accidents, and puts enormous stress on cranes and structures. Anti-sway technology has existed for years — but most implementations require additional sensors, encoders or measurement hardware to be fitted to the crane, adding complexity, cost and ongoing maintenance. craneIQ Antisway takes a fundamentally different approach. It works purely from the Variable Frequency Drives already fitted to your crane's travel motions. No sensors. No encoders. No cameras. No height measuring unit. The open-loop algorithm profiles the VFD speed reference to move the crane in a way that naturally suppresses swing on any number of axes simultaneously. The result: operators with limited training immediately move loads with dramatically less sway, improving safety, accuracy and cycle times — commissioned and running in less than a day.
Typical anti-sway systems need
Encoders on the hoist
Height measuring units
Specialist commissioning engineers
Ongoing sensor calibration
Additional hardware to maintain
Multiple days to commission

What it does for you
- Dramatically reduces load swing
Operators immediately notice the difference — loads travel smoothly and settle quickly without correction or waiting
- Removes human error from load handling
The system manages the crane's acceleration and deceleration profile — operators focus on positioning, not swing correction
- Operators with any level of experience perform well
New and inexperienced operators can move loads safely and efficiently from day one — no years of practice required
- Improves safety — fewer near misses
Less swing means less risk of loads striking structures, equipment or personnel during travel
- Improves productivity and cycle times
Less time waiting for swing to settle before placing loads — faster, more accurate load positioning every cycle
- Reduces wear on brakes and mechanical components
Smoother acceleration and braking reduces mechanical stress — extending component life and reducing maintenance costs
- No sensors, encoders or additional hardware
Nothing to install beyond the controller itself — nothing to calibrate, nothing to maintain, nothing to go wrong
- Commissions in less than a day
Minimal production disruption — typically installed and running within a single shift on any crane with travel VFDs

Who it's for
Plant Managers
Safer crane operations, faster cycle times, and less reliance on experienced operators — without a major installation project or production shutdown.
Engineering Managers
No additional sensors or measurement hardware to specify, install or maintain. Works with the VFDs already on the crane. Commissions in a day without specialist support.
Crane Partners
Add anti-sway to any crane with travel VFDs — new or existing — with minimal commissioning time and no additional hardware to source or support.
